McLarenIT (a family run business) was started in 2003, originally branded '100% McLaren IT Solutions'.
100% MITS came out of many hours of voluntary work for various charities. The opportunity arose to
become an IT Support contact for a few local businesses and this was the start of things.
Over a period of time the cost of computer equipment lowered and it was difficult to justify the mark up
on PC bundles.
At this time, a local company that we were providing IT support to required a website developing.
Having found another local business that we could sub-contract the work to, the decision was made to
provide a quotation for the job.
Following the completion of this website, the company was re-branded 'McLarenIT‘: the focus of our
company was now on web design, and little IT support was continued. At this time, a partnership was
created with XoomIT, the company to whom the website design had been sub-contracted.
In 2004 McLarenIT started to gain size and joined the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce.
In 2005 McLarenIT had completed the design of many web sites and held several hosting contracts.
Due to the success of 2005, the decision was made to market the company further. The start of a
marketing campaign was opened by placing an advert in the Chamber of Commerce 2006 Business
Directory, for both the Thames Valley and Essex regions.
Since 2008 the Company has been offering bespoke webhosting packages for smaller Charities and Voluntary & Community Sector (VCS) Groups. We are keen to support these important organisations in the key role they play in building the infrastructure of our society.
